I cherish that part of my childhood soo much!
I started rollerskating at the age of 7 i think. Dad bought me one of those metal adjustable roller skates, the ones that requires u to use shoes on it. It was so heavy that it took me a long time to be able to skate on my own.
Then I was regularly skating around the neighbourhood. Had my neighbour Farah to skate with.
I later feel in love with a pair of skates at Toys R Us. It was one of those roller skates that comes with boots. Looks kindda like ice skates to me at that time. Love love loved it.
Until I started browsing some magazines...saw some sexy ladies skating the inline skates by the beach. Told my dad..I WANT THAT.
A year later, my Ultra Wheels arrived. A year later, we started importing inline skates by the container loads to Malaysia. I then got to change my skates every month or so...Always got to try new skates! That was the best job ever!

Today, many years later...my daughter saw a pair of roller skates at Toys R Us. It was a barbie design. How toyish! But i still had to get it for her. She's such a natural that Nabil envies her skates.
I will not buy a toy skates for him. I think Nabil should be able to fit into the smallest children in line skates that available in the market. Poor boy had to sneak out to use the sister's skates. Driving me to tears...(ok, i'm overly emotional).

Nabil will be 5 and Ayesha will be 3in August. Never too young to start. ermm....didn't i vow to start my children skating before they start to walk? hahahahahhahah, I'm so late...they are walking, runnning & cycling.....

Pop already!

Entering W36

Weight 55.3kg

I feel oh so bloated. Even sitting down makes me feel tired. But laying down is so uncomfortable for me. I hardly have appetite. But I’m craving for certain food. Rite now, all I want is that pulut with santan and mango at Kampung Bahru. Was suppose to go there yesterday, but both hubby & I feel asleep whist putting the kids to bed. 

This morning, had my normal juice, then walk in the garden, followed by breakfast. Couldn’t seem to muster enough energy after that. Just went back to bed. Woke up, and went to the bank…still no energy. Can hardly eat lunch, thus settled for dates blended with milk. But that's enough time to wake me up. So here goes..

W31 or is it 32?

Its not a long way anymore. I'm getting nervous & anxious. Wondering how will I cope with 3 kids. Nabil & Ayesha still needs me to sleep with them. They are constantly demanding to be hugged during the middle of the night. I love to cuddle with them, but comes the new baby, I'll need to nurse and all...HOW?

Work has been different. I'm coping with the less than enough computers but I don't like it. It required a lot more planning, so, i'm getting used to it. Can't wait for the new PCs to arrive!

I'm making Bisky Bosky to fullfill the orders that I've received. Loving it! Can't wait to develop new designs. My biggest obstacle is still the fabric. I'm still doing my studies on fabrics.

Baby preparation is almost done. I've got most of the essentials, only need to wash them. Luckily, all has been detoxed this morning. Nabil waited whilst I cut up the ingrediants and assembled the juicer. He then took a chair to help the juicing process. Upon finished, Nabil went to the cupboard and took out 2 glasses. One for me and one for himself.

I poured out one full glass for him and took a bit for myself. The taste is good, sweet carrot, sour apple and salty celery. Nabil finished his glass. I'm so proud of him. A 4 yo drinking vege juice! Ok, with a bit of fruit. I’m in my 30th week already. Feels like it was only yesterday that I found out I was pregnant. Time surely flies.

My current weight is 54kg. Not bad, not bad at all. I think this time around I’m putting on more weight because I’ve moved to Melawati, thus I spend less time on the road. Baby is really active. At 27weeks, apparently he has engaged himself into position. Such a eager baby. I’m now carrying low, so low that sometimes, I find it hard to wear my pants. Like, there’s no space for pants. I really hate wearing my pants across the tummy so, I’m opting for more dresses now.

I think I’m more or less prepared for the arrival of baby Q. In terms of nursing, I’m prepared with my nursing ‘poncho’, nursing tops, breast pump, EBM storage plastics and some nips cream.

For the post partum bleeding, I’ve got my stash ready. But, with the recent sewing bug that had hit me, I’m making more pads. Its just so much fun!

Baby’s equipment, clothing and diapers are all ready. Although I think I overdid on the socks & mittens section. I didn’t get a single blanket as we already have too many baby blankets and beddings.

I’ve put aside my clothing that are suitable for confinement to replace my current wardrobe. Can’t wait to bypass that stage and move to NORMAL clothes.

What am I obsessing rite now?
Juicing.
Sewing, well sewing pads to be exact.
Babywearing. This must be due to the fact that I failed miserable at wearing the older kids that I’m going all out to wear my 3rd baby. Just need to find the funds to this obsession or just make my own!

All of that, and yet, why do I have this nagging feeling that I forgot something? Why oh why?

Going green

Last week was spent at home. Worked from home as i was having some pain and baby's head has already engaged at W28. That's so not funny!
Whilst at home, I started on a few things...

1. Juicing
We're jucing everyday because my mom's friend is on juice and despite having cancer, she walked from GH to Grand Seasons after a chemo session. Her secret? Juicing....
So, our daily recepie is 1/2 not ripe papaya (not really green, more like green on the outside and light orang on the inside), 2 cucumber, 2 carrots, 1/2 cekak pegaga, 1/2 cekak bayam, 3 sticks celery (dark green ones, the light coloured ones on the inside doesn't count) and other fruits/vege that we fancy. I'm so loving it! Hubby (aka Mr juicer), my mom and me...we take about 2 glasses each everyday before dinner.

2. After all the juicing, we have lots of residues. What do we do? Store them in a container to make compost. Compost is great for plants & animals (if u know how to deal with it), but ours is mainly for the plants. We're still at the beginning stage and it only started to become watery about 3 days ago. That'll go very well for the plants that we've started planting. Basically, we're sticking to just raw fruits/vege to be used as compost. We do not add in fish/chicken or cooked stuff in it.

3. I started sewing...lalalala. I find that sewing makes me calm. What have I made, mostly just menstrual pads and panty liners. Its fun and addictive. over the weekend, I even took a step further as to upgrade myself from manual handsewing to using the machine. Made like 6 pads during the weekend. Now, just need to find a place to put on the snaps. Then i'll need to get volunteers to try it out...

4. I'm back to making the maid use the water from the washing machine to water the plants. Instead of the rinsing water going out the drain, we take it and water the plants & grass.

My babies are no longer babies...

Of late, I've found that the kids are really growing up. Rite in front of me. Nabil and Ayesha are no longer babies.

This week, i found that i can actually leave Nabil to do his homework all by himself. In fact he seems more at ease and is proud to show me his work when its all done. (well it does help that his homework is wayyyy easy these days) Even his bahasa homework, i find that i only need to go thru it with him briefly and leave him be. Only thing is, i have to make sure that his PC is off. It doesn't help that the PC is on his study table, but that's just some self control that he'll have to master..:)

Lil Princess on the other hand, has finally been potty trained. She hasn't been in diaper for the past 2 week except during the weekend. Even that, the diaper was dry. Night is also good as she knows about accidents that happened to Nabil and she will not have it. awww, such a darling. So, as a reward, we bought her more panties which she was able to choose herself. No Dora this time, but Princesses.

By next month, i'll be destashing Ayesha's diaper.

I WANT A TRAMPOLINE

aites....dunno where the hormones came from but I want a trampoline.

Not for now, but for after I've delivered. She hasn't asked to be nursed for more than a week. Everyone is happy!!

Ayehsa started nursing on 16th August 2007 and finished nursing in March 2010. We have both done well, with no help of baby formula. Alhamdulillah! She is now drinking fresh milk and likes it cold. Moving around is slightly more difficult as we have to bring along her milk. Thank god for Dutch lady fresh milk that does not come refrigerated. The only setback is, she takes her milk in a bottle. :(

I can now stop worrying about having to tandem nurse. Phew! I do hope i'll manage to collect as much if not more EBM as compared to when i was nursing Ayesha.

Ayesha is also on her potty training mission. The microfiber insert is good in the sense that it’s a big one layer that we fold. So, that reduces drying time.

The pants itsef. The colour is nice and bright. Cutting looks similar to mamypoko economy pants. I’d say, it trim enough to wear pants on it. Now, the pocket deserves a story all by itself. For days, I was wondering what is this hidden pocket that some mommies were referring to. Alas, on the last day that the CD stayed with me, I found the hidden pocket. So yeah, you can add extra booster in there. The insert, theoretically, its easy to put in. Just lay it. But its bulky and somehow, it refuses to sit nicely under its cover. I had to squash it in..poke here there..:) Upon observation of the pants, I found that the side waist elastic (the yellow part) does not look very convincing.

Wearing it was easy peasy. DD was standing watching tv and all she needed to do was lift up one leg at a time and pull up…J

Performance wise, I think DD urinated twice in it. It so happens that she wore it on the day that she too occupied to entertain the potty. So, upon 2nd urination, it leaked. Whole thing was soaking wet. And it dropped half way her bottom. ‘shy only’. That confirms my elasticity observation. Furthermore, I saw that DD’s tummy has a long red swell which indicates her skin’s intolerance towards the fabric.

So, off u go AP. May you serve another baby.

Potty Nightmare

Ayesha has started some potty training. During the day, she sometimes wear diapers, training pants or panties. Whichever she fancies.

She’s been obsessing over pink stuff since beginning of March. Imagine a 2 yo, who refuse to wear her diaper or clothing just because its not pink. Well, 2 ½ yo to be exact. A lil bit too early don’t you think? Luckily she has cloth diapers which comes in many colours and patterns. I’ve got 1 pink babycheeks, 1 Happy Heiny’s pink swirls, 1 Happy Heiny’s pink fairies, 1 pink Coolababy and 1 fushia Magic AIO Minky. The rest of her CD stash, is being kept for lil brother. Imagine if I had to depend on sposies….they come in ugly prints and mostly white base..I’d so be in trouble!

Anyway, back to her potty training. Although, she still have accidents, she can tell whenever she has urinate, and an immediate change is required whenever in diapers. This applies even during night times. She’ll cry, wanting a diaper change. And in the morning, she’ll use the toilet to urinate. Hooray for Ayesha!

Last night was different story. She was cranky, I’m thinking its those chocs that she ate during the day. Too much chocs for her tiny tummy! Young lady wanted to take off her diaper and sit at the toilet due to her tummy ache. She was sleepy, so I had to sit on the step stool & hug her. Argh! If only she’d settle for the diaper, a diaper change would be so much easier. We took 4 trips to the toilet and each session lasted for almost 30 mins. Alas! I’m so sleeeeeeppppyyyyy….

Baby #3...preparation

Just a few more months of pregnancy and I’ll have another cutie to play with..:)

This time around, I’m a bit laid back in my preparation. Amongst things that I’ve purchased are:

Some clothing
Ring sling
Cloth Diaper

Hah! What a ‘long’ list!

Although, the bulk of my purchases was on the CDs, I’m still obsessing on the matter. God help me!

So far I have :

Brand new..
11 Freshbots fitted size s
2 wonderfully cotton dyed prefolds (I think its infant size)
1 thirties duo cover

Will be used from Ayesha’s stash
2 Grobaby
1 babycheeks
1 bamboo blueberry
2 Tiny Tapir pockets
2 FB pocket ( don’t really fancy this anymore )
1 Drybees pocket (its flower prints…erm, not so boyish la)
5 regular prefolds (from Umar’s stash)
1 dozen of gauze flat (lampin)

That makes it a total of
3 cover
7 prefolds
11 fitted
7 pockets

Is that enough? Maybe 2 more covers will do it.
And a dozen of regular prefitted would be great.
I think for this baby, I’m gonna go big on prefolds. Found a tutorial on converting prefolds into prefitted and I want to do it. Then have it dyes or something like that..
I’m really hoping that baby will fit into the FB fitted. Or else, I’m down with 7 prefolds + lampin. Which is really not much. I’d hate to depend on sposies…Maybe I’ll get more prefolds….6 pieces for RM45? That’s only RM7.50 each. These prefolds would later make great inserts.

I used to be a skater girl

A few years ago, I was a skater girl who love to in-line skate. Silat Olahraga, I entered the inter-varsity match for matriculation student and came out champion for my weight category. Under Silat Seni Gayong Malaysia, I hold a green belt (I chickened out of my red belt test..silly me!). I entered many many TKD competition and got medal for most. I now hold a black belt 1st dan which I got within 2 years after getting several double promotions. I took TKD to varsity and played the local inter-campus at UKM. Can’t even recall what medal I got. But it was a fun game cause I also entered Silat Olahraga and Softball then. Crazy me! Kickboxing was great. Extremely fun & challenging. This was more physical & really tested my endurance. Throwing out during the first few session is just a norm for me (u know when sometime I take a break). Oh yes, after that was futsal. I was a crazy defence player or goalkeeper. Now, that would make me sound like a tough sporty chick. Haha!

Then….it happened. Me & finally a real Him. and he was the ONE. We tied the knot. Soon after, the baby came and the next baby and soon another will drop by.

Today, I’m a mother of 2 and baking another. That’ll be 2 boy and 1 princess by July 2010. My life is no longer about my activities but instead I’ve turned to concentrating on my kids. Its hard to find time to exercise let alone enough time to pick up a sport. My current interest is cloth diapers, babywearing and children development.

Looking back…..oh gawd! Such a different life. Am I sure I’m the same person? hahah

Jibberish...

A friend once said this to me and it somehow got stuck in my mind....

To the Christians...All Christians will go to heaven and those who do not follow Christianity will be damned to Hell.

To the Buddhist...All Buddhist are going to heaven and everyone else will be going to Hell.

To the Hindu...All Hindis will go to Heaven and those who do to follow hiduism will go straight to Hell....

and the list goes on....

Funny that all religion has the same view...there is a Heaven and there is a Hell. I have to admit, although the appetite isn’t too good, but the nausea has reduced by 80%. I’m happier than before.

I am now able to stay up at night till 10pm the latest and still survive the day after. Truly an achievement after having 8pm as my bed time for sometime……

Nabil is reacting well to the concept of having a new baby. Sara Ayesha is still gasping on the idea of having a sibling. The more I try to explain to her, the more she wants to be nursed. And I’m trying ever so hard to stop nursing her. We’re down to nursing at night and during travel (she can’t resist nursing in the car, I’m thinking its something like me not being able to resist sleep in the car…lol)

In the mean time…..School reopens 6th Jan 2010. Nabil will be in K1 and Ayesha will be in Pre K (hope I got their classes right). It’ll be Ayesha’s first year in school. Not that she’s never been to a ‘school’ before as she was doing Tumble Tots since she was 6 month old. But this is everyday school. Can’t believe my kids have grown so much…

Still remember Nabil’s first day at school (it was only last year). He just went in and left us parents standing at the gate. Wonder how Ayesha will do…Nabil had the upper hand of spending some time with his teacher during the registration. For Ayesha, we didn’t bother coming in for registration….it was all done vie the phone & internet. Sunggu maju kita sekarang. But then again, Ayesha has been to the school many times before this. So that’s a plus point for her. We’ll just have to wait and see. I bet you this anxiety will be triple fold when they start primary.

Facebook

I like it. It sorts of gets you connected to others without having to talk. For people like me, who do not socialize much, its great.

But I do realize there are several ethics that one should adhere. For instance, respect. Everyone gets a chance to say something but its like this. My page is my home, I should be able to say anything I want. Therefore, if you don’t like it just ignore it. Don’t try to be a smart alec. Just respect the other’s persons interest. Read it if u want, but shut up if I don’t have anything good to say. In other words, Thou shall enter the house but Thou shall not be rude. Got something nasty to say, use your own page. Say what u want in your own page.

Although, your page in your home….it isn’t your bed. So, if you have something private to say to your love ones..keep it private. Seriously, if last night was great, it was really great….you don’t need to announce it on FB..unless of couse you are so insecure that you need to be re-assured.

Sharing is good. I love it when a friend shares her adventures and experiences. You get to imagine other’s life and perhaps spice up your own life. Just because someone put some nice pictures of their holiday doesn’t mean that they’re showing of. Take it positively and be aspired to achieve as what others have.

Hell, I’m not prefect, neither are you.

I love my life and my family. I may not be super rich but I’m comfy. I don’t keep up with the Jones. I just live my life. Always had and always will. I now try to maintain a 7 meals a day diet. Detrimental to my weight? Really hope not. My diet kindda looks like this

Breakfast : 2 pcs of whole meal bread

Morning Break : Anmum milk + what ever I have on my table

Pre lunch : Nasi with Ikan bakar & ulam

Lunch : something at home

Post lunch : Fruits & snacks

Tea : Crackers with cheese

Dinner : something at home + dessert

There you go, and still last night, after that steak dinner (which didn’t all settled in my tum tum), I wanted Roti pisang. But because I was not in the mood to go out , just in case Ayesha wanted me, I didn’t have anything. What happened instead was the steak coming out. Moral of the story…if I feel like having something, better get it else the rest of my tummy isn’t gonna be happy. Later, I settled for a midnight snack of Maggi whilst watching Twilight.

Believe or not, with this increase in the number of meals, my tummy looks smaller. My guess is that its less bloated now.

In the mean time, I’m still working on my conversations with Ayesha. I need her to stop nursing. I know I’m gonna miss her and she’s gonna miss me, but we’re gonna have to work something out. After all, Ayesha will be starting school next month. She’s excited, so I might just use that…

Pregnancy #3

I'm entering my W10. I hope the offers lasts till June 2010.

To complement my Fs, i'll need to get some playtex liner. Think i'll get 2 boxes, 1 of the 4oz and 1 of the 8oz. Gotta clean up my steriliser, haven't used it for more than a year...:) What else....oh yeah, makes sure that Mama does not stock up too many things in the freezer. Thank god for the standalone freezer at home. I'll aim to fill up at least 2 drawers during my confinement. Had no recollection of my previous menses…at all. But one this is for sure, I’ve not had my menses since I sent the maid back on 29/9/2009. My belly is so bloated and I’m very emotional. Heck, I deleted a friend from my Facebook simply because I can’t stand her idiotic school girl behaviour of having to win all the time. ‘Girl, eve if u want to win…do it in your own life…’ So, got back from work, told DH that I wanted to get a kit from Gurdian ( I got a simple Gurdian brand kit as it says there 99% accuracy as per laboratory test), pick up the kids from Trops and head home. Put the kids to bed, and my turn to mandi. Did the test first…3 drops that’s all I needed. I could see the lines, but decided to ignore it until 3 minutes (that’s what the instruction said) After 3 mins, DH was anxious, he peaked first….then me…We’re both happy with the result, although we didn’t plan it…but nonetheless, we’re excited…

I’ve my doubt because a friend ask..All 3 was positive? Hahahah, I only did 1 test..OMG.
31/10/2009 (Saturday) – Told the kids early in the morning. They’re excited. Started taking my supplements today. Eating meals as normal. Looking for a new Dr..

2/11/2009 (Monday) – Set an appointment with Dr Siti for tomorrow. Used my loose pants, I started the day with it fully buttoned, by 10am, one button had to be undone, By the end of the day, I wanted to take off my pants…Eating meals as normal.

3/11/2009 (Tuesday) – Finally after waiting for hours, saw the Dr and she confirms that I’m 5 weeks. Due date is 7/7/2010 according to the scan. That was quick!

5/11/2009 (Thursday) – Drank my milo in the morning a bit too quick I think. Lack of sleep last night as we were fighting Nabil’s fever & the kids wanted to watch TV from 2-5am. Threw out a bit before my bath. Had French toast for breakfast, that went out too….:(

The good and the bad..

I’m truly happy that my son didn’t have his bottled formula milk yesterday. The whole day went by without a single sip or even a mention of his ‘nenen’.

Well, 4 yo Nabil had been down to 3 bottles a day. One on the way to school, one on the way home from school and one before bed. I have been giving him and making sure he takes his glass of milo on the way to school. I like the family to take milo in the morning and I make it with milk instead of the Malaysian favourite of milo kosong.

For his on the way home nenen, I replaced it with some cookies/crackers or a bun.

Now, the final touch….how do u replace that last bottle that he takes before he falls asleep? I decided to make Hot Chocolate after dinner. Young man drank a mug and asked for more. Another mug and he was happy. Then we did the going to bed routine (minus the bottle) and he fell asleep.

I slept smiling as now Nabil is moving to a new stage…J also the fact that I’m almost out of formula and I won’t be thinking of buying more….

On the other side, I spoke to Dr Zarin on Nabil’s snoring. (I’m not talking childlike snores, he snores like an adult). Nabil’s tonsils are big. Dr Zarin says that most probably his adenoids are also big. Since Nabil has been complaining about his hearing, so that could also be related :(. I’ve read about this situation on the net and most of the time the next step is surgery as the condition causes him to stop breathing during his sleep…sleep apnea la pulak…

Helpers from Hell

We sometimes hear stories about maids being abused and all kinds of thought cross our minds. On the other hand, we also hear about maids being great and stay on till the kids gets married and have kids of their own.

Good or bad, it all depends on luck?

Back in the days when Malaysian took in local helpers, it was good. Well, it had to be good as the children are left with the maid at home. No CCTV or whatever. Helpers would cook, clean, take care of kids and some even do gardening.

Today, Malaysian mostly take in Indonesian helpers. So we hear of all the horror stories. About kids being poisoned, abused, husbands being seduced etc. Some of us read of these events thinking that it’ll never happen to U.

For instance, I read about the Nirmala case and I’m hinking….how could one be so bold? But, you could.

Live in helpers are expected to help and employers depends on them. If the helpers are not here to work but instead thought that coming to Malaysia was a ticket to get out of Indonesia…well, Houston we have a problem.

Personally, I’ve had my own experience. Helper was lazy, biadap (rude) and dirty.

Things that almost drove me mad was

She wouldn’t wake up on her own. Since I’ll be breastfeeding my daughter, hubby would have to wake her up everyday. Set an alarm for her, she’ll just turn it off.
Milk bottles were dirty.
Ironing 3 pieces of shirt while I’m out the whole day?????
She never cleans her room
She sleeps anywhere she fancies.
Used the kitchen scissors to cut her hair or some ‘bulu’ and put it back in the utensils drawer unwashed. After this event, the house had hair/bulu all over the place. When told to tidy up, she didn’t. So I had to vacumn the whole house.
She had this tendency to put her hand in my handbag to ‘search’ for things like the house keys. Then smirks when I told her off. ‘Ibu takut saya curi barang?’
washed shoes in the kitchen sink using children bowl for holding the soap??? There were clean plates & glasses on the sink as well. Normally she washes shoes in the toilet.

Arghhhhhh……for 3 months she drove me crazy. Nonetheless, I had to keep her for the agent was not ready to take her back. I put no reliance on her and just had her do things like tidy up after meals (which was either cooked by me or bought). Putting things into the car.

After endless scolding, I found that she had been talking to some of MY RELATIVES and she thinks that she’s doing just fine and I’m a plain bitch. I do hope that some people do not interfere in my life cause u’re just making things worse and U really have other things to do in your life.

Well, Bedah was my Nirmala minus the scars.

Milk booster

This post acts as a reminder to me..should i need it later in life.

Things that help mummy's milk production.

1. Oats
I add this to my drink or consume the 3-in 1

2. Dates
Ate Kgs of Kurma Mariam during confinement. Blended pitted dates with milk works wonders for me....served cold.

3. Sawi / mustard
Green vege...take in any way...soup or stir fry

4. Lobak putih
Soup

5. Fanugreek / halba
Took 1 teaspoon a day. A bit heaty for me...

6. The pill from Amway set bersalin...during confinement, this helped boost my milk supply.

To ensure, any of these works, one must consume enough water on a daily basis. Have a healthy diet. Why? Because pocket is pricey, fitted is like putting on 2 diapers and AIO takes too long to dry (plus my dryer isn't working anymore). So, the cheapest is AI2.Initially, I opted for Daisy Doodle and some prefold. A place that has both..Tiny Tapir.
At this point, tinytapir had just opened its shop at Ampang Park. So, off i went to their shop.I was pretty dissapointed that the Daisy Doodle was still in Damai, but was impressed with its new product Grobaby.I took 1 shell set which consists of 1 shell, 1 soaker and 1 doubler. That's RM105. To make it economical, I added a set of soaker, RM72 for 2 pieces. Pretty good. For RM177, i now have 3 diapers. The colours are the same as Dream Eze, because they come from the same source...duh! I opted for Purple, i mean, how wrong can i go with purple...its my fav colour.
Went home and soaked it in hot water. Then rinsed it by hand and chuck it in the washing machine. Dried it and tada....I'm all set to try it. Regardless of what the instructions says. The fit....good, DD who is 11kg fits in the L setting. Looks, its trim. :) I put on a mini skirt for her. Sooo cute! Absorbance is good, i mean, i didn't leak and DD is a pretty heavy wetter. Rash check....0k!
So, i figured we can get more soakers....yeah, wait till i sell the old diapers...Sold the old diapers, let's get more soakers...wait, what's this..unused soaker in the stash? uuhhh, she did #2 and soiled the shell. Now....i think we need more shell. So, i got another set of Shell and soaker. If i need some more, I'll just add the soaker...The soaker is so soft. Its organic cotton. Ayesha loves putting her bottom on it. I love it too. It really is absorbent. With this system, i don't mind using Cd for outings.
Bringing a change is minimal as i just need the soaker. It takes up little space in the bag (this is an issue when u need to bring things for 2 kids). But the soaker isn't like normal inserts, because its thick, it takes slightly longer to dry.And the soaker actually has a sewn on boaster and elastics on the sides.
What else do i like about Grobaby, the touchtape! Its soft. U won't ever scratch your baby with it, no matter how wriggly ur baby is.... :)
Now, it grobaby had a contest on diaper review...do u think I'll win one?

Cloth diaper for sale

DB hybrid RM37.00
Pink polkadots. So, why say green earth..It used to be green? did it?
How about blue earth? grey earth?
We all know that the earth nowadays is so polluted. But what do we do? Do we use a green car like Cameron Diaz? (excuse me, i just saw her on tv last night) Or do we use loads of plastic bags and more and more non biodegradeble things? I'm so very guilty when it comes to this.
I used plastic bags for so many things, from packing to throwing rubbish.
I tried to do my bit by planting some plants on my nonexistence garden. Ok, its a patch of land that does not belong to me, but its there and i'm trying to make it nice and green. What do i do? I plant some mulberry. Did it grow? For a while it did..then its just alive. Perhaps its due to the lack of sunlight. (its in between buildings). Other plants that is not growing are my pokok limau purut, pokok kari and a type of ulam. Wait, the ulam does grow but slowly. I'm still analysing my pandan. Sad, my green thumb isn't very green...
On a different note, I'm proud to say that I'm not a big contributor to the growing hill of used diaper or sanitary pad. yeay! Although I've 2 kids on diaper, they are mostly on cloth diaper which needs to be washed, not thrown away and me..I'm in love with cloth pads.
Yucks! cloth pads..like the ones our grandmother used to use? Nope! These are much more modern pads. One thing for sure u can't get it in any retail store here in Malaysia. Fact is, muslims or malays are in the habit of rinsing their sanitary pads before throwing it away. So, y use diaposables when cloth are much more comfy. I love getting my period nowadays because i look forward to used my cloth pads. Why is it comfy? because it doesn't have all the chemicals that they put in your white cloth like pad. Just because its white..u think its clean. Is it really clean? Nope. Its just the psycological effect...marketing they call it.
DOn't get me wrong... I don't go all green...eating only organics..bla bla bla...
But the things i do is simply because i think its reasonable. PLus, the pads and diaper comes in cute designs and colours.... :)
But I still think that parents should reduce their usage of disposable diapers because it takes too long for it to decompose. Please....?

Friends.Family.Foe part 1

To date, i can fairly say that I'm no great friend to anyone. My best friend is my Hubby and 2 kids, and also my mom. In a nut shell, that does seem kinda sad. But why?
What is a friend? to me, a friend is someone that i can communicate with. I have many aquintance which i categorise as friends, mostly collegues. be it in school, college or at work.
When i was lil girl, in Kindy..I had 1 best friend. her name was havyana (i don't know how to spell it). She was my neighbour and also my schoolmate. We did so many things together from having our meals to taking our bath and also playing together. Unfortunately, at 10 yo, she passed away.
In primary school, i had Zeti Faralin, Yuzlirizan & Wan Hasniza. We did most school activites together. Nothing our of the school though, cause we live far from each other (oklah, for for kids our age). Furthermore, on weekends I was usually at clubs like Lake Club or KDE which non of them were members.
In lower secondary, Yuzlirizan and me were thrown into the rough world of SMLK. Then we moved to SMTM in the middle of F1. There I was still with Yuzlirizan but we had Suraini and Syima with us.
After form 3, i stayed at SMTM. Yuz & Suraini went to bording school. Syima left for Penang. At F4, i befriended Halina, Hazlina & Naddiana. Our friendship wasn't so strong thoughout. I was much closer to my skating counterparts like Selly, Mel and Nur whom were all in CBN.
After F5, I went to MYPM for my matriculation. There i met Aifa and Tasha Idha. Then entering UKM, Tasya stayed at the main campus but I was in KL with Aifa. We were best of buds alongside Norul & Gabby. None were my roommate. Yuzlirizan was here with me but she had her medic buddies. Alas i Quit UKM at Y1 and soon after Yuzlirizan passed away.
Now, as i joined HELP, i made new friends. I had Julie, Chut and Norman at Diploma. Then I pursued my degree with Laifa and Loshini. Oh yes...I also had Jamil beside me, Not exactly classmate, but friends nonetheless..
yada yada yada....that's was friends for me.
I envy those with a tight circle of friends. Those whom although married with kids still hang out together, although the venue and activities would probably change. Of all the friends i had with me, those that i still keep in touch are people like Selly, Halina and Nadd. The rest? I'm sure if we met i'd say Hi, but that's just it.

Too thin

I was looking at some of my picture that it hit me. I look so thin that its not funny. Seriously, kalau orang kata mcm drug addict pun boleh percaya. Tapi bila tengok perut...haha, lain cerita.
Ok, bottom line is, I'm totally out of shape. The face is cekung, the boobs fluctuates (depending on the milky station), the tummy..too obvious....argh!
So yeash, my modus operandi for the moment is to do sit ups before bed. I can do it in front of the TV while the kids are either sleeping or awake. So, i hope this works.
Eat more? shesh....i eat more than anyone i know who is not breastfeeding.
I just need to exercise... Lack of time? Not in my priority list kot.....

Neways, we went to PD last weekend. It was great. The beach is like how it used to be 20 years ago. There were sea shells everywhere. And the small beach crabs were loads of fun for the kids to chase. I love the small round shells. There were millions of them on the beach...

Kids enjoyed themselves, Ayesha was allowed to roam around on her own. No fear of her bumping into objects or falling and hurting herself. It felt good. She was indeed rather independent, doing her own thing.

Since we went at low tide, the kids enjoyed themselves at the shallow water, and lame waves. Good enough and safe enough. I loved it!

Nabil loved the sand. He dug here there, built many things, used his imagination. But one thing remains, he needs attention. Young man, just cannot layan diri like his lil sister. Someone had to be there for him all the time. Lucky thing the grandparents were around.

I'd say, the PD trip was great. Kids had fun with nature..Needless to say, both kids ended up with a tan.

Next week will be another adventure....

Nabil goes to school

Yesterday was Nabil's second session in Tumble Tots (Playphonics). This time i told myself that i will not go to school with him. So, as we approach Tumble Tots, I slowly crept away into Living Quarters. I watched him walk to school with Daddy. I waited for Daddy to slowly come out of Tumble Tots. So out came Daddy, I was aw BB Max. I heard him crying from there. I cried too...
Daddy had promised him Optimus Prime of Nabil stays in school without Mummy & Daddy. We couldn't find any OP at The Curve or Ikano. So, I got him some marshmallows.
10 mins to 2pm, I went to TT. Nabil saw me and I was dragged in. But i let him be on his own. I just sat there and read some magazines.
After his class, I congratulate him for attending school all by himself. And off we went to find OP at One Utama. Because Daddy could redeem points at Parkson, so we looked for OP there. An OP costs RM2**. Crazy or what??? I didn't agree with it so instead we got Nabil a computer (my leap pad). And for Ayesha, I got her an SUV with a mummy & baby.
Nabil slept on the way home and Ayesha loved her purple SUV.
A grumpy Nabil woke up asking for his OP. Oh Oh! We're in trouble. I reminded him that we didn't find the right OP but instead he got a computer.
I then realised that the leap pad needed batteries (AAA lagi)..ayoh. Off we went to 7E. I thought Nabil how to use the Leap Pad. He absolutely loves it and does not bother Ayesha with her Leap Pad anymore.....:)

Ayesha turns 13 months

My baby girl is already 13 months old. Time seems to fly these days. I can still remember the days that I was pregnant with her...the delivery...and now she's 13 months old...
At 13 months old she can say mama, dada, kakak go (when she doesn't want the maid), tah, nenen, nanak, nak nak, bang (for abang nabil), shoes. Which i think is pretty good. Congrats Baby!
Ayesha is also capable of walking on her own. Attempts to jump, but the closest she got was a highland fall from the side table to a mattress. She can feed herself, well its messy but she gets food in. She can hit a golf ball with a club (Abang's toys..), loves playing with cars. And can kiss, hug and give a flying kiss.
We're currently learning colours and shapes using her leapfrog pad.

On a different note, my maid has been with us for 1 year..almost. She'll be staying for another year before taking a break to her hometown. Then, the plan is for her to continue for another 2 or 3 years. Thank God! I think this is also due to the influence of MIL's maid which has been with MIL for 8 years. For that I am happy and thankful.

3 years old and a new class

Yesterday was Nabil's first day attending Playphonics & 3-5 at Tumble Tots. Being a 3-5 class, it does not require parent participation. We were suppose to leave him there to learn and play with the staff & his friends.
So, during the ride to The Curve, Hubby & I told Nabil that he was going to a different class and nobody is bringing their mummy or daddy. He didn't sound too happy about it.
All of us went to send him. I'm thinking that i'll leave once his class starts. But, he made it very clear that he wanted me around. He ran from his class every other minute just to make sure I was still around. Then when i thought he was absorbed in class, i tip toed out, with Hubby. Not even 1 minute away, I could hear him crying. Ouch! that hurts. So, i went back in. Only to get a scolding from him. 'i told you, i want you mummy. Stay here. Understand?!'
Understand, Nabil. So i sat throughout his whole class. grrrr....
I'm thinking that next week, I'll get hubby to send him. This means that the parents gets to go out. So, out we went for a mexican dinner. We went to Clientelle or something like dat in Dataran Sunway. Very near our place, just in case the kids wakes up, we can run home. It was my very first Mexican meal. I love the dessert there, Chocolate Chimichangga (i think), Next time, when i need a good dessert, i know where to find it...yummy!
Then on, we went to look a houses in the neighbourhood. I actually spotted a nice house that was for sale. I took down the number. A few days later, i called the number and got a price. RM1.088m. grrrrrr.. The house has 6+1 rooms. Lets see, that means a room for the parents, one for each kids, one guest room, one maid room that 5 already...one playroom? hahhaha, for the kids la! Nah, i should turn it into a library.
I really liked the driveway. It has a long driveway. If we keep minimal amount of cars, the kids would have plenty of room for running. The idea is to generate incomhne. How important in income? Necessity!
I read that money is just an illussion. Its there but its not necessary. Because of the principles behind it. Money is used as a medium. To purchase something, you need. To obtain a certain lifestyle, you need to spend money. You see, the key word here is lifestyle.
What kind of lifestlye you want determines how much money you need. (statement A)
But for most of us, we live in the world whereby how much money we have, will determine what kind of life we live. (statement B)
We have to shift our life from B to A. Because, it is very important to know what you want. When you know what you want, be thankful for what you want, the How will come naturally.
Its like you have a dream, and you imagine of having it already, so you thank Allah (or whoever you pray to). Allah will see that you can appreciate it and your Doa will be fullfilled.
This kind of dreaming isn't just daydreaming or wishful thinking, it come with real feelings and mindset.
Gratitude is very2 important. I mean if you live in a small house and you want a bigger house. You have to be thankful for what you have first, then be thankful for what you will have. Because imagine God is sitting in your mind. He hears you complaining...'this house is so small, i can't wait to get our of this hell hole'...God is thinking, aren't you lucky you have a place. If you can;t be thankful for what i already gave you, I'm pretty sure you'll never be thankful for a bigger house.
True? I would think so...
Well, all this information didn't come from me, these statements were from books and friends whom i am thankful for.
Today, I made RM1***. I'm happy and thankful for the extra cash. I do know that all the extra cash that keep flowing in will change my lifestyle.
Dear Allah, thank you for the life i have, for the family i have, and for the money that changes our life. Thank you.

New Wardrobe

I absolutely have limited clothes to wear. Being her very first birthday, I decided that it should be celebrated on the day itself. So, there you go, one session on 16th and another party on the 31st (alongside Nabil).
Friday before the big day was a busy day for me. I had lunch with Mama, then we went to Hartamas to get the birthday candles. Then to Ikea/Ikano for more party materials.
Did i mentioned that i told Daddy its just a blow the candle event for Ayesha. hehe, turned into a makan-makan & party for the family too event.
After the run around town in Friday, i sent Mama home via LRT cause i had to rush home to get the kids ready for dinner. Unfortunately, Nabil was already asleep at 6pm, so on ly Ayesha went out for dinner with some friends at One World hotel. Food was good...Thanks, Yein.
Saturday morning was a juggle. We woke up and sang to Ayesha the whole morning (kes family members terlebih excited!) Then, Mummy & Daddy went out to get more presents. We got Ayesha a leapfrog reader and Nabil a small transformers (i tot the whole idea of Aysha getting all the attention would hurt him...) Lucky us, spending RM150 above at Toys R Us, got us some vouchers...untung! Then, i really wanted to go home cause the maid called saying Nabil was crying and he was so sad that mummy & daddy wasn't at home. So, home we went.
Oh yes, did i mentioned that we had to go to OU because Blacky was due for its wax and stuff. Yeah, a 10am appointment. Blacky was ready at 2.30pm.
But at 1pm, Daddy decided that he needed a haircut and insisted that Nabil & I went along for Nabil's hair cut too. I pulled a long face cause i really wanted to spend more time with Ayesha. I mean, its her birthday and she's with the maid athome....*%^*&^!!
Then it was the issue of birthday cake. I had decided on brownies (Secret recepie) and icecream. It takes 30 mins for them to get it ready, in the midst of it..blackout. So, no brownies...Daddy got the Oreos & Cheese.
Its 3.30 and i just got home with Nabil. Got the kids amost ready and along comes the guests......

jap, to be continued....

Tumbling Baby

This Saturday marks Sara Ayesha's first birthday. Also an old friend's daughter (Sara Erina) 8th birthday. As I am anxious for Ayesha to turn 1, my lil princess has got ideas of her own.
Ayesha loves to tumble. On the bed is fine with me. She would stand up and put her hands out, head down, and tumble down. Its fun and we enjoy it. But yesterday......grrrr, she tried to do it at the driveway. Although she was standing on the grass, she put her head on the cemented block. Needless to say, she scratched her forehead. Strong lil princess didn't cry when picked up and washed. She was still having fun. boleh tak?????
I am so geram with her. But lil princess loves being outdoors so much.
Today, I'll be in the office till noon. Nope, not I. Perhaps, its time for KL to have one?

I'd love to open up a diaper outlet. So that, mothers do have an avenue to actually see, touch and perhaps try on diapers before buying. Why is this necessary? Because I've kena a few times, beli diaper only to find out that its slightly small or too big for my loved ones.

I'm cool and i'll just sell it as second hand.

Second hand diapers you say? Yes, there is a market for it in Malaysia. But only for cloth diaper the reusable ones.

So far, i've found that Malaysian mothers prefers pocket and fitted diapers. AIO is not much of a fav cause a dryer isn't a norm her in Malaysia.

I see my diaper shop selling cloth diaper, diaposable diaper, swim diaper, and everything that has to do with diapers. Till then, I'm gonna promote cloth diapering to mothers!

What's not to love? The designs are absolutely cute. The rash is minimal (if any). It was a magnifying glass. Its much better then the one i got him a year ago cause its plastic. So, Nabil was everywhere looking for things to look using his magnifying glass. The whole day he was occupied minus the afternoon when he dragged Tah our into the garden looking for insects. They finally caught a butterfly and placed it in a jar. Then 5 minutes later, Nabil insisted that it's time for the butterfly to fly back home to his family. How sweet!
Then, he was back to hunting ants under the dining table, or anywhere he reckons he can find insects...
As i got back to my mom's in the evening, Gramps took Nabil out to buy coconut to make Durian gravy. They got back 10 minutes later with a toy escavator in Nabil's hand, and nothing in Gramps. Apparently, despite going out to get coconut, they got back with a toy instead of a coconut. The grated coconut was still sitting in the shop, waiting to be collected.
Funny, how a child can divert one's attention.
Needless to say, after the whole day of hunting insects and stuff, Nabil slept in the car on the way home.
This morning, he remembered his new toy and played with it the whole journey to Tah's house.
Mummy : what's that u got there?
Nabil : its an escavator, Gramps got it for me
Mummy : mmm
Nabil : and who got me my red yo-yo. Last month was my birthday and i got my very own car from Daddy. Its not my ultimate dream car, but its still one of my wannahave cars. Daddy got me a Honda Stream. We had been visualising for sometime already and finally its here. Daddy even let me have my own number WR Q471. That's suppose to read as WR QATi. That's the closest I'll get to my name..

Yesterday, Q471 went to the service centre for his very first service and to put on some skirt. It now wears a modular bodykit (so, i was told). This puts an end to calling Q471 a he cause he now wears a skirt. I'll call it my Blacky. hehhehhe

I've been told that since Blacky wears a skirt, he can't run on the bump. Must take care, if not the skirt will get spoilt. grrr....That's so like a girl! When u wear skirt, you have to take care of you manners, your sitting position. Part of the reason, as a girl i hated wearing skirts. My parents worked ultra hard to get in into one. They'll say things like how pretty i look, very nice, bla bla bla. Then I'll wear it but am uncomfy cause its a skirt. Later, i was introduced to the shorts that looks like skirts... LOVE IT!

Wait a minute...I was talking about Blacky... Neways, Blacky has been enrolled to a grooming to make sure she has her wax and all. Daddy spent a whopping RM650 on Blacky's grooming. Hey daddy, how bout spending that much on me? Next month? Thanks daddy!!!!

Today, I am focusing on happy thoughts. I'm getting ready for Ayesha's 1st birthday this saturday. Read, i say Birthday..not birthday party....:P

Turning Around

The mood : moody
The reason : betrayal

Last weekend, something horrible took place. Sara Ayesha will be turning 1 this saturday (16/08/08). Although we'll be having a joint birthday party for both Sara Ayesha & Muhamad Nabil on the 31/8/08, I still think that DD deserves to have her first birthday on her own. So yeah, this saturday, we'll have a small get together (family only) for Sara Ayesha.

Despite being only 1 yo, my lil princess has achieved a lot. She has started walking, and rather steadily now. In school, she has graduated from the crawling class to walking. I took a picture of her walking and taking her certificate yesterday. (will post it later). Sara Ayesha can say a few words like dada, papa, tah, nak, nenen, shoes (and she absolutely loves her shoes), books, woof woof. I was constantly checking our the l,ocal diaper scene at supermarkets. hahha. But, Nabil only stared using disposable diaper at 2 months old. Before that? He was on lampin. Yeah, u read me right... we used lampin on him. Simply because its healthier.

That is why, during my 2nd pregnancy, I was studying the modern cloth diaper. I started cloth diapering Nabil when he was 1 yr plus. The Sara Ayesha started at birth (as soon as she was out of the hospital).

My diaper journey has been colourful. Event wise & diaper wise.:) I have been studying so much that the more I know, the more I love it. I can't say that I'm now a diaper addict. Because I'm still at a healthy level.

What do i do with all my diaper interest? I was thinking of starting my own diaper shop. How's that? I think that working on my own diaper shop would give me more satisfaction than being an accountant. Oh yes, I have discussed this with Hubby. He's giving the go ahead! Now all I have to do, is make my business plan & find my capital. I believe that once I'm ready with my business plan and preparations, the capital will find its way to me...(rite Daddy?).

Post Final Exams

As I finished my final exams at Help, I was already looking for a job. Lucky me, a few days after my last paper I started going for interviews.
My first job was with CEIC something. I was doing basically reading financial statements and putting it into the system. How very boring. Needless to say, I needed something more exciting, so, my job hunting never really ended.
One day, I was called for an interview with Amal. This is an insurance company, much to my dad's excitement. On the day of the interview, I had fun. It was a group interview which i knew i scored. haha...call me kiasu, but it was that obvious.
So the 2nd interview was ..jeng jeng jeng...a camping trip. Say what? Yeah, a camping trip. My parents were away that weekend, so i just left them a message and off i went to Amal with my back pack. grrr, that I would say is rather crazy. Cause u really do not know what u're up against. I mean what if it was all a set up to kidnap me? (this is what mama & papa was thinking). My elder brother, on the other hand was cool. He called up a friend there, asking what the hell was happening. But she told my bro to chill cause she'll be there.
So, kecoh ok, buat interview mcm nie.
To make it into a more interesting story... Interview started on Saturday morning and ends on Sunday evening. THAT particular Sunday plak is my graduation day. hohhohohohoh. So, I got myself excused early.
But yeah, at Janda Baik, me in my shorts decided to go all out a lead the way during our activities. It was fun, cause this petite chick in shorts was like gila kuasa, within reasons. Heck, I might as well do it cause I'm already in way a lot of trouble (my dad didn't give the go ahead on this trip..he never does).
There, I made friends with a jr from school called Sharifah Nadia. Unfortunately, our friendship basically ended in Janda Baik cause she didn't make it.
I started my Management Trainee program in May 2003. It was a big hohaa. I came in my power suit ( which is now was too small for me..giller ape size 1). My parents actually brought me shopping for my working wardrobe which was basically mostly Edmundser...haha. The big deal here was that my suit came with a skirt, not pants. So, nobody, except 1 person wears skirt in Amal. Well, the skirt is another story, which leads to me meeting my hubby....in another entry k!
