HELLO from ME

Greetings human. I mean if you are actually reading this, you must be a human being right? Nope? I may be wrong, You could be a robot too... These days, I can never be too sure. But whatever.

Let me just do this intro thing that I have put aside for years..or if I had it done, take this as an update k.

I am Qaty. Yes its my name is real life too. I was sent to earth to two very special people, my mama and my papa. I have two brothers. Fast forward a few years, girl meets boy, girl marries boy kind of thing... so yeah I am married to Mr Huffy since 2004 and we have 3 lovely minions Bil (14), Sara (12) and Qibby (9).

Why am I doing this? For the fun of it because I am such a wonderful person...NOT! I just have this funny feeling that I may finally find my self and my calling. lol... like being a Mommy does not fullfill me? Maybe this will be fun time? Lets just see how this goes ya.

What do I do? Like OMG this is such a loooong question to answer. Everytime I ask myself what do i do, and all I get a whole blinking checklist! Its soo long in my teeny tiny head that its just not funny. To simplify it, I work, I parent, I teach, I counsel, I sleep, I exercise, I housewife, ... yikes that didn't come up to a simplified version.

Trying again.....

I work for a company called Mega Water Sports as well as Mega Water Sports & Holidays and also Bisky Bosky Ent. For the love of God if I forget another slave driver I will update. Wait, how do i get to work in different companies? Is it even legal because on top of that I'm also a Mommy???? My life, dear readers , is just like that...

Exercising.... I run (jog, slow run, at least I move). My longest run was a trail run in 2012 for 40KM. I know....thats 2 km short of a full Marathon. But thats just me... in 2020, the furthest I have done is probably just 5km. Short and sweet, like me. I ride bicycles... opss I mean bicycle because 1 road bike was passed down to dear Sara and another road bike is hanging on the wall without a front wheel but I do have a foldie..Mr Brompton is sitting under dust in the store room. So id like to think of myself as a cyclist with partial bikes... I enjoy my bootcamps tho. The sessions I have with the Sierra Warriors are fun. Not as hard as Ukay Warriors..but its ok for me.

I'm no soccer mom. I am trimom. I do not do triathlons. But my kids does, yes, all 3 of them...poor kiddos have training 5 times a week which mommy rushes them to. More entries on kids triathlons will be coming your way.....i hope...

I'm a wife of course to an avid cyclist. He cycles too much too often and I will grumble about it here. Boi can do cycling events up to 600km in 2 days. Mommy needs sleep everyday....so I watch and grumble. Please do join me in my grumblings.

I'm a teacher...wooohoooo! Qibby loves me soo much that I am his homeschool teacher. Yes, I homeschool and will write about it with a cane? Sorry Cikgu Bedah just crossed my mind.

Since I am based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia... I do hope to write about places to do your thang....

Alriteyyy.... my student awaits me.

xoxo,
Mommy

Juicing

It was 2.30pm. Weather is hot as usual.

Nabil : Mummy, its time to make my juice.

Me : erm, its not juicing time yet Nabil.

Nabil : not your juice, MY juice.

Me : ok

We head to the kitchen, i took out a green apple, a stick of celery and a carrot. Luckily, all has been detoxed this morning. Nabil waited whilst I cut up the ingrediants and assembled the juicer. He then took a chair to help the juicing process. Upon finished, Nabil went to the cupboard and took out 2 glasses. One for me and one for himself.

I poured out one full glass for him and took a bit for myself. The taste is good, sweet carrot, sour apple and salty celery. Nabil finished his glass. I'm so proud of him. A 4 yo drinking vege juice! Ok, with a bit of fruit. I think that's great.....

My babies are no longer babies...

Of late, I've found that the kids are really growing up. Rite in front of me. Nabil and Ayesha are no longer babies.

This week, i found that i can actually leave Nabil to do his homework all by himself. In fact he seems more at ease and is proud to show me his work when its all done. (well it does help that his homework is wayyyy easy these days) Even his bahasa homework, i find that i only need to go thru it with him briefly and leave him be. Only thing is, i have to make sure that his PC is off. It doesn't help that the PC is on his study table, but that's just some self control that he'll have to master..:)

Lil Princess on the other hand, has finally been potty trained. She hasn't been in diaper for the past 2 week except during the weekend. Even that, the diaper was dry. Night is also good as she knows about accidents that happened to Nabil and she will not have it. awww, such a darling. So, as a reward, we bought her more panties which she was able to choose herself. No Dora this time, but Princesses.

By next month, i'll be destashing Ayesha's diaper.

Welcome Trimester 2!!!!!!

This means I’m now in my 2nd trimester. I have to admit, although the appetite isn’t too good, but the nausea has reduced by 80%. I’m happier than before.

I am now able to stay up at night till 10pm the latest and still survive the day after. Truly an achievement after having 8pm as my bed time for sometime……

Nabil is reacting well to the concept of having a new baby. Sara Ayesha is still gasping on the idea of having a sibling. The more I try to explain to her, the more she wants to be nursed. And I’m trying ever so hard to stop nursing her. We’re down to nursing at night and during travel (she can’t resist nursing in the car, I’m thinking its something like me not being able to resist sleep in the car…lol)

In the mean time…..School reopens 6th Jan 2010. Nabil will be in K1 and Ayesha will be in Pre K (hope I got their classes right). It’ll be Ayesha’s first year in school. Not that she’s never been to a ‘school’ before as she was doing Tumble Tots since she was 6 month old. But this is everyday school. Can’t believe my kids have grown so much…

Still remember Nabil’s first day at school (it was only last year). He just went in and left us parents standing at the gate. Wonder how Ayesha will do…Nabil had the upper hand of spending some time with his teacher during the registration. For Ayesha, we didn’t bother coming in for registration….it was all done vie the phone & internet. Sunggu maju kita sekarang. But then again, Ayesha has been to the school many times before this. So that’s a plus point for her. We’ll just have to wait and see. I bet you this anxiety will be triple fold when they start primary.

The good and the bad..

I’m truly happy that my son didn’t have his bottled formula milk yesterday. The whole day went by without a single sip or even a mention of his ‘nenen’.

Well, 4 yo Nabil had been down to 3 bottles a day. One on the way to school, one on the way home from school and one before bed. I have been giving him and making sure he takes his glass of milo on the way to school. I like the family to take milo in the morning and I make it with milk instead of the Malaysian favourite of milo kosong.

For his on the way home nenen, I replaced it with some cookies/crackers or a bun.

Now, the final touch….how do u replace that last bottle that he takes before he falls asleep? I decided to make Hot Chocolate after dinner. Young man drank a mug and asked for more. Another mug and he was happy. Then we did the going to bed routine (minus the bottle) and he fell asleep.

I slept smiling as now Nabil is moving to a new stage…J also the fact that I’m almost out of formula and I won’t be thinking of buying more….

On the other side, I spoke to Dr Zarin on Nabil’s snoring. (I’m not talking childlike snores, he snores like an adult). Nabil’s tonsils are big. Dr Zarin says that most probably his adenoids are also big. Since Nabil has been complaining about his hearing, so that could also be related :(. I’ve read about this situation on the net and most of the time the next step is surgery as the condition causes him to stop breathing during his sleep…sleep apnea la pulak…

Nabil goes to school

Yesterday was Nabil's second session in Tumble Tots (Playphonics). This time i told myself that i will not go to school with him. So, as we approach Tumble Tots, I slowly crept away into Living Quarters. I watched him walk to school with Daddy. I waited for Daddy to slowly come out of Tumble Tots. So out came Daddy, I was aw BB Max. I heard him crying from there. I cried too...
Daddy had promised him Optimus Prime of Nabil stays in school without Mummy & Daddy. We couldn't find any OP at The Curve or Ikano. So, I got him some marshmallows.
10 mins to 2pm, I went to TT. Nabil saw me and I was dragged in. But i let him be on his own. I just sat there and read some magazines.
After his class, I congratulate him for attending school all by himself. And off we went to find OP at One Utama. Because Daddy could redeem points at Parkson, so we looked for OP there. An OP costs RM2**. Crazy or what??? I didn't agree with it so instead we got Nabil a computer (my leap pad). And for Ayesha, I got her an SUV with a mummy & baby.
Nabil slept on the way home and Ayesha loved her purple SUV.
A grumpy Nabil woke up asking for his OP. Oh Oh! We're in trouble. I reminded him that we didn't find the right OP but instead he got a computer.
I then realised that the leap pad needed batteries (AAA lagi)..ayoh. Off we went to 7E. I thought Nabil how to use the Leap Pad. He absolutely loves it and does not bother Ayesha with her Leap Pad anymore.....:)

3 years old and a new class

Yesterday was Nabil's first day attending Playphonics & 3-5 at Tumble Tots. Being a 3-5 class, it does not require parent participation. We were suppose to leave him there to learn and play with the staff & his friends.
So, during the ride to The Curve, Hubby & I told Nabil that he was going to a different class and nobody is bringing their mummy or daddy. He didn't sound too happy about it.
All of us went to send him. I'm thinking that i'll leave once his class starts. But, he made it very clear that he wanted me around. He ran from his class every other minute just to make sure I was still around. Then when i thought he was absorbed in class, i tip toed out, with Hubby. Not even 1 minute away, I could hear him crying. Ouch! that hurts. So, i went back in. Only to get a scolding from him. 'i told you, i want you mummy. Stay here. Understand?!'
Understand, Nabil. So i sat throughout his whole class. grrrr....
I'm thinking that next week, I'll get hubby to send him. Its much easier for him to get away as compared to me.....
Sigh! Must my little boy grow up?

Nabil is occupied

Yesterday morning, Nabil had a surprise from his Gramps. It was a magnifying glass. Its much better then the one i got him a year ago cause its plastic. So, Nabil was everywhere looking for things to look using his magnifying glass. The whole day he was occupied minus the afternoon when he dragged Tah our into the garden looking for insects. They finally caught a butterfly and placed it in a jar. Then 5 minutes later, Nabil insisted that it's time for the butterfly to fly back home to his family. How sweet!
Then, he was back to hunting ants under the dining table, or anywhere he reckons he can find insects...
As i got back to my mom's in the evening, Gramps took Nabil out to buy coconut to make Durian gravy. They got back 10 minutes later with a toy escavator in Nabil's hand, and nothing in Gramps. Apparently, despite going out to get coconut, they got back with a toy instead of a coconut. The grated coconut was still sitting in the shop, waiting to be collected.
Funny, how a child can divert one's attention.
Needless to say, after the whole day of hunting insects and stuff, Nabil slept in the car on the way home.
This morning, he remembered his new toy and played with it the whole journey to Tah's house.
Mummy : what's that u got there?
Nabil : its an escavator, Gramps got it for me
Mummy : mmm
Nabil : and who got me my red yo-yo. Mummy!
Mummy : (smiling)

Isn't my soon to be 3 years old just charming.
